One of the main reasons why I decided to become a tutor was because of how much I love to help people achieve success. For this reason, I became a special education teacher after graduating from college. I currently work in the Washington, DC, public school system to help students of all ages and grade levels increase their classroom and world knowledge to prepare them for the professional world. Part of why I feel so passionately about education is because of my father's influence. As a university professor, my father always made sure that I had the same love for learning as him. I am currently enrolled in a master's program at the University of Maryland, where I'm working towards a degree in English literature so that I can become a professor just like my father. I speak both English and Spanish fluently and come from a Cuban family. While in college, I spent some time studying abroad in Barcelona, where I had the privilege of learning more about Spanish language and culture. When I'm not teaching students how to reach their academic goals, I like to spend my time traveling abroad. I've done extensive travel in Western Europe and throughout Asia.
